Our favorite job sites

The best startup jobs aren’t always on LinkedIn

While LinkedIn and Indeed have the most listings by volume, many of the best startup opportunities surface on niche platforms first. Here’s our curated list of job sites we recommend to candidates looking for roles at early-stage and growth-stage companies.

For startup roles specifically

Wellfound (formerly AngelList Talent) — Still one of the best places to find startup jobs. You can filter by stage, role, salary range, and equity. Many startups post here before anywhere else.

Work at a Startup (Y Combinator) — YC’s job board aggregates openings across their entire portfolio. If you’re interested in YC companies, this is the single best resource.

Hustle Fund Job Board — That’s us! We aggregate roles across our 200+ portfolio companies so you can discover opportunities you wouldn’t find otherwise.

For remote roles

We Work Remotely — One of the oldest and most trusted remote job boards. Great for engineering, design, and marketing roles.

Remote OK — Aggregates remote jobs from across the internet. Good filtering options and salary transparency.

For specific functions

Key Values — Matches engineers with companies based on culture and values, not just skills. A great way to find teams that align with how you like to work.

Climatebase — If you’re interested in climate tech, this is the go-to resource. Aggregates roles across the climate and sustainability ecosystem.

Hacker News “Who’s Hiring” — Posted on the first of each month. Surprisingly effective for finding engineering and technical roles at startups that don’t do a lot of active recruiting.

Our advice

Don’t just browse — set up alerts on 2–3 platforms that match your interests. Check them weekly rather than daily (daily checking leads to burnout). And remember, the best opportunities often come through warm intros, not cold applications — so use these sites for research as much as for applying.
